What are the Core Characteristics?

Massachusetts elected to adopt six core components, identified by CCSSO, that ensure pathway quality and help fulfill the five Guiding Principles.  These Core Characteristics are required for designation and are as follows:

  1. Career Advising
  2. Labor Market Information
  3. Integrated Instruction
  4. Work-based Learning
  5. Credential Preparation
  6. Postsecondary Linkages
