Innovations Pathway Coordinator

Swampscott High School | Program Site
I have been teaching “STEM” related courses for the past 10 years and believe that learning is done by doing, making, building and creating. I strive to create an atmosphere that promotes self advocacy and empowerment through hands-on, project based learning. I feel extremely grateful that I have a job that allows me to mix my passions of design, art, and woodworking and share it with students.
My role within the pathway involves building/maintaining a manufacturing shop, creating and teaching courses within the advanced manufacturing pathway, and coordinating internship partners. I work alongside a strong administrative team that works closely to meet the needs of the students within the Innovation Pathways.

Drew Weymouth is passionate about quality instruction that ties the relevance of what students learn to the skills they will need in their future success. This encompasses professional skills, career exploration and goal setting along with technical skills and work experience which is why he is so passionate about working with students and other districts on Innovation Pathways. Drew has a background in teaching Biology and Math and has spent the last 15 years in school leadership for both suburban and urban high school settings. His experience at Worcester Technical High School has led him to work with teams of colleagues to develop and grow Innovation Pathways as a means to expose career sectors to students at Worcester’s comprehensive high schools that otherwise would not have had that opportunity. This program is a cooperative effort between the comprehensive schools and the technical school in Worcester and thus has a unique design that capitalizes on the instructional expertise and capital equipment that Worcester Technical HS brings to the city. Drew is a passionate educator that enjoys the challenge of program growth, employer partnerships, and leadership, combined with the personal interactions with students that help show how their program experiences have touched their lives. Drew believes he can help other programs tackle unique challenges and creatively think through solutions. These may include funding, and partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and perhaps even other schools.
